So I just beat EarthBound... (Spoilers. Obviously. :o)

And I must say, it's a lot different than I thought it was. O.o

I thought Pokey/Porky just joined Giygas, but it turns out he really just joined everyone who came into possession of the Mani Mani Statue. Surprised

Then he eventually joined Giygas. (Although I don't know how. O.o)

I must say though, it's a great game overall. Very Happy

You should have played Golden Sun. One of the villains was a tree, who transformed other people into trees.
